Senior Backend Engineer (Java / Node.js)

Remote-first (Quarterly travel within Ireland)

My client is looking for a Senior Backend Engineer with strong experience across event-driven architecture, database technologies, and containerisation, with a wealth of experience in programming languages such as Java or Node.js. If you have full-stack experience and have worked in a complex fintech environment this will be advantageous, providing an exciting opportunity to join one of the most technically mature development teams in Ireland for one of the world’s most established firms in the fintech space.

Senior Backend Engineer – Essential Experience:

• 6+ years of experience in hands-on software development, with experience across Java and/or Node.js.
• Strong experience in Cloud-native application design and development, primarily in Azure.
• Solid exposure to Event-driven Architecture/System Design and Enterprise Integration patterns.
• Coverage of Frontend technologies and frameworks such as React, JavaScript, or TypeScript.
• Expertise across various SQL/NoSQL database technologies and Containerisation/Orchestration – Kubernetes.
• Any experience working within complex fintech or payments environments is advantageous.
• Experience working in a fast-paced, dynamic, Agile environment.
• Ability to lead projects or mentor less experienced members of the wider team.
